Privacy Policy

Astro is built to be quiet — and that extends to your data. The app has no accounts, no tracking, and no advertising. What it needs to paint the sky stays on your device.

What Astro accesses

Astro requests two things from your device, and only while you are using the app:

• Location (when in use). Your approximate coordinates are used to calculate accurate sunrise, sunset, and twilight times for where you are.
• Motion & orientation. The gyroscope drives the gentle parallax of the landscape layers as you tilt the device. This data is read in real time and never stored.

What leaves your device

To fetch real solar data, Astro sends your latitude and longitude to the public sunrise-sunset.org API over a secure HTTPS connection. That request returns the day's sun times and nothing else. No identifiers, no device information, and no personal data accompany it.

What we collect

Nothing. Astro has no analytics, no crash reporting that identifies you, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. There is no account to create and no profile to build. We do not see your location — the API request is made directly from your device.

What we store

Astro keeps only lightweight preferences on your device (such as your last known location, so the sky is correct the instant you open the app). This never leaves your phone and is removed when you delete the app.

Children

Astro is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Third-party service

The only external service Astro contacts is the sunrise-sunset.org API, solely to retrieve solar times for the coordinates you provide. Please refer to their site for their own terms. Astro shares no data with any other party.

Your control

• Revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Astro will simply fall back to a default sky.
• Deleting the app removes every preference it has stored, immediately and completely.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Because Astro collects no contact information, material changes will be communicated through the app's listing.
